The International space station can be easily watched without a telescope. Travelling at 7.66km/sec around the earth at a height of 400 km from earth, it orbits earth over 15.5 times every day.
It was a collaborative project executed by five space agencies – NASA (USA), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe) and CSA (Canada).
Launched in November 1998 , it has spent over 22 years in orbit and has been continuously inhabited for over 20 years by scientists and researchers.
